Demo Post

On Wednesday 04 October, we had our Rotary Club’s meeting at Sai & Lake View. We were pleased to welcome a number of guests, 5 of the children who are living at Ban Meata Children Home and Hogan, our Taiwanese Exchange Student.

We enjoyed a very nice dinner and afterwards held our monthly business meeting, during which the president outlined the different projects we as Club supported since our charter event till date.

Emphasizing how important our Charter Project, to support the children at Ban Meata, was to get visibility for our Club and commitment from our members, friends, and supporters, in Thailand and abroad. The Charter members still remember the daring challenge we took as a new Club to commit to raise at least 1 million baht for this project.

Today as a Club we are proud that we have outperformed that challenge as we have raised over 6,250,000 THB and initiated and or supported more than 25 projects and helped over 28,000 people in “our community”. Something we were able to do only thanks to the commitment and dedication of all our members.
We are looking forward seeing our membership grow, with both Thai and foreigners living in Khon Kaen, as we definitely can use any additional support to run our various projects. There are still many needs in our community to be addressed and we are committed to make a change.

At the end of the meeting, we made a substantial donation.

At the occasion of their marriage Heinz (Switzerland) and Chai, (Ban Dun Sat, Kranuan) asked their guests attending the wedding party to donate towards our Charter Project “Every Life Deserves” rather than to give them personal gifts.
We are very honored and happy to be able to donate, thanks to the generous couple and their guests, a total of 100,000 THB to support the 32 babies, toddlers, and teens at the Ban Meata Children home.
Heinz and Chai told us they had a great wedding party and are feeling great to donate these funds to help and support the children enabling them to get a bright future. We are looking forward to seeing both in person, when they will visit us beginning of March 2024 and we will visit the Children Home together.
